Ruth M. Baxter, 81, of Lawson, passed away Sunday Oct. 28, 2007 at Liberty Hospital.
Ruth was born May 28, 1926 in Excelsior Springs, the daughter of Clarence M. and Cerena C. (Crowse) Clevenger. On Dec. 17, 1947 she married Larry W. Baxter.
Ruth was a homemaker. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Jewel Chapter #492 of Liberty. She was also a member of the Vibbard Christian Union Church for over 30 years.
Survivors include: her husband, Larry of the home; two sons and daughters-in-law, Larry S. Baxter and his wife, Jeanett, of Excelsior Springs, Mark Baxter and his wife, Suzanne, of Lawson; one daughter and son-in-law, Lorrie Kotalik and her husband, Tom, of Excelsior Springs; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Gene Clevenger of Excelsior Springs, and Glenn Clevenger and his wife, Barbara, of Lawson; one sister-in-law, Viola Clevenger; eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Her parents, one daughter, Janice Gillihan, and one brother, James Clevenger, preceded her in death.
Visitation will be Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2007 at the Vibbard Christian Union Church from 4 to 7 p.m., with the family receiving friends at that time. Funeral services will be held Thursday November 1, 2007 at 11 a.m. at the church. An Eastern Star service will be conducted at 6 p.m. Burial will be in the North New Garden Cemetery in Excelsior Springs.
Services are under the direction of the Polley Funeral Home in Excelsior Springs.
