Dorothy Sharp, 86, of Richmond, passed away at 6:43 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 25, 2007, at Shirkey Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Richmond.
Mrs. Sharp was born Dec. 5, 1920 in Richmond, the daughter of William and Ava Mae (Pointer) Bunch. She married Melvin Sharp of Camden, in 1946.
Mrs. Sharp had worked at Weiser Lock Company in South Gate, Calif. She lived in Cudahy, Calif. before moving to Richmond in 1998. She was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include: several nieces and nephews.
Her parents; husband; one daughter, Becky Sue Sharp; two stepchildren, Gayle Sharp and Patricia Halphin; one brother, William Bunch, Jr.; and five sisters, Dora Frances Bunch, Willa Mae Williams, Mildred Murphy, Nell Jo Edgar and Mattie Margaret Nokes, preceded her in death.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the City of Hope in San Diego, Calif., or St. Jude’s Hospital.
Memorial services will be Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. at the Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Inurnment will be at Sunny Slope Cemetery in Richmond.
