Vonnie Gae Wilkerson, 56, of Lexington, went home to be with the angels she so loved, Sunday, Oct. 21, 2007 from injuries received in an automobile accident.
Vonnie was born July 17, 1951 in Keosauqua, Iowa, the daughter of Dale E. and Oneida Drummond Stansbury. She was a social worker at the Division of Family Services in Lexington. Vonnie was an active member of the Lexington First Baptist Church, the Chorus of Friends, Lexington OES-248, Beta Sigma Phi, and Relay for Life. Vonnie was a 1969 graduate of Richmond High School.
Survivors include: her parents, Dale and Oneida Stansbury, of Richmond; one
son and daughter-in-law, Kevin Wilkerson, and his wife, Jenny, of Florissant; one daughter, and son-in-law, Kim English and her husband, Larry, of Peculiar; one brother and sister-in-law, Daniel Dale Stansbury, and his wife, Donna, of Lee’s Summit; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Verlee Patterson, and her husband, Paul, of Richmond, and Veda Stansbury, of Tempe, Ariz.; one granddaughter; three step-grandsons; five step-granddaughters; and one step-great-grandson.
An infant daughter, Karla Wilkerson, preceded her in death.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Relay for Life or the First Baptist Church of
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2007 at the
Walker-Nadler-Fuller Funeral Home in Lexington. Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 25, at the Lexington First Baptist Church. Burial is in the Richmond Memory Gardens.
