Margaret Mae Shook, 77, of Lawson, passed away Friday, Sept. 28, 2007 at her home.
She was born May 3, 1930 in Kansas City, Kan., the daughter of Wilbur L. and Pansy Daisy (Bennett) Wood. On Nov. 4, 1946 she was united in marriage to James Gene “J.G.” Shook at Fort Scott, Kan. Margaret was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church and a member of St. Ann Catholic guild.
Survivors include: one daughter and son-in-law, Linda A. Schwab and her husband, Garry of Independence; four sons and two daughters-in-law, David James Shook of Smithville, Donald E. Shook and his wife, Roxanne, of Lawson, Richard V. Shook and his wife, Jacky, of Broomfield, Colo., and Earl L. Shook of Excelsior Springs; three sisters, Marian A. Burch of Wheatridge, Colo., Martha J. Moore of Fla., and Rose Marie Stroud of Broomfield, Colo.; twelve grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Her husband, her parents, one son, Danny Shook, one grandson, Jermey James Shook, and one brother Grant C. Wood, preceded her in death.
Memorials may be given to St. Ann Catholic Church in Excelsior Springs.
Visitation will be after 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 5, 2007 at Polley Funeral Home in Lawson, with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. A mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, Oct. 6, 2007 at 11 a.m. at St. Ann Catholic Church in Excelsior Springs, with Msgr. Bill Caldwell officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery in Excelsior Springs.
