Carol Collen (Crowley) Oliphant 76, of Richmond, passed away on Friday, Sept. 21, 2007, at her home, after a 12 year battle with colon cancer.
Carol was born on April 29, 1931, the daughter of Guy Thomas and Vergia Almira (Brown) Crowley in Richmond. She married Lawrence Oliphant on Aug. 17, 2002. Carol was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She was an organist, and served as a Missionary for the Baptist Church.
Survivors include: her husband, Lawrence Oliphant, of the home; one brother and sister-in-law, Buford Guy Crowley and his wife, Susan Joyce Baldwin; seven step-sons and five daughters-in-law, Joseph Oliphant and his wife, Carol, Adrian Oliphant and his wife, Fonda, Chris Oliphant and his wife, Jenny, Owen Oliphant and his wife, Dorothy, John Oliphant and his wife, Julia, Ben Oliphant, Tom Oliphant; four step-daughters and three sons-in-law, Edith Atkins and her husband, Randy, Eilidh Elliott and her husband, Larry, Ellen Jackson and her husband, Andrew, and Ame Siwik; 57 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Her parents, one sister, Joyce Lorraine (Crowley) Heart, and one grandson, Wayne Siwik, preceded her in death.
The family will receive friends from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 29, 2007 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Excelsior Springs. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. at the church.
Burial will be in the Richmond Memory Gardens.
Arrangements are under the direction of Polley Funeral Home in Richmond.
