Ruby I. Alexander, 90, of Richmond, passed away at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2007 at the Ray County Memorial Hospital in Richmond.
Ruby was born Nov. 13, 1916 in Ray County, to Silas Lee and Rachel Mahali Jane (Holloway) Wrisinger. She married Paul E. Alexander of Knoxville, on Nov. 12, 1938. Ruby was a member of the Knoxville Community Church. She was a lifelong Ray County, resident.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews; and Ruby and her husband’s caregivers for the past 20 years, Bernita Carter, Farrell Wrisinger and Larry Wrisinger.
Her husband preceded her in death on Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2007. Her parents, eight brothers, Lee Wrisinger, Everett Wrisinger, Ernest Wrisinger, Amos Wrisinger, and four who died in infancy; three sisters, Bertha Wrisinger, Ethel Johnson and Earle Thompson, also preceded her in death.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Knoxville Community Church.
Visitation will be Sunday, Sept. 23, from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Funeral services will be Monday, Sept. 24, at 1:30 p.m. at the Knoxville Community Church. Burial will be at Richmond Memory Gardens.
