Elnora A. Belt, 92, of Richmond, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 18 2007, at Shirkey Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Richmond.
Mrs. Belt was born March 3, 1915 in Hodge, to Manford and Lela (Register) Franklin. She married Ezekiel Belt of Ray County, on Dec. 20, 1958.
Survivors include: four sons and daughters-in-law, Daniel Shockley, Sr. and his wife, Deanna, of Orrick, John Shockley and his wife, Linda, of Lexington, Charles Shockley and his wife, Adruth, of Orrick, and Lloyd Shockley and his wife, Paulette, of Missouri City; two daughters and sons-in-law, Marcile Fischer and her husband, Donald, of Corder, and Delorise Bush and her husband, Eldwin, of Rayville; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Leroy Franklin and his wife, Margaret, of Pleasanton, Kan., and John W. “Dub” Franklin of Richmond; 22 grandchildren; 49 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Her parents, husband, three daughters, Mary Belle Shockley, Loretta Middleton and Dorothy Trout; four brothers, Basil L. Franklin, Chester Monroe Franklin, Robert Ervin Franklin, and Jesse James Franklin; and three sisters, Ollie Irene Doss, Eva Bernice Powell, and Mildred Josephine Jordon, preceded her in death.
The family suggests memorial contributions may be made to Shirkey Foundation.
Visitation will be Thursday, Sept. 20, from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Funeral services will be Friday, Sept. 21, at 2:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Sunny Slope Cemetery in Richmond.
