Kenneth L. Baker, 73, of Richmond, passed away Monday, Sept. 17, 2007, at his home.
Mr. Baker was born Dec. 31, 1933 in Independence, the son of Theodore W. and Helen G. (Morris) Baker. He married Mary Louise Arnold of Richmond, on May 29, 1954.
Mr. Baker was a carpenter for over 30 years. He was a member of the Hardin First Baptist Church. He lived in the Hardin and Richmond areas most of his life. He was a 1951 graduate of Hardin High School.
Survivors include: his wife, Mary Louise, of the home; three sons and daughters-in-law, Tim Baker and his wife, Dee, of Benita Springs, Fla., Rick Baker and his wife, Tammy, of Lexington, and Darren Baker and his wife, Marietta, of Richmond; one daughter, Lisa Baker of Richmond; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Richard Baker and his wife, Lulabelle of Hardin, Larry Baker and his wife, Cheryl, of Liberty and Donnie Baker and his wife, Natalie, of Texas; two half-brothers, Theodore Baker of Hardin, and Raymond Baker; one sister, Doris Mae Drooger; nine grandchildren, Amy Shaffer, Ted Baker, Emily Baker, Brandon Baker, Justin Baker, Amanda Montgomery, David Baugher, Jessica Baker and Kaitlyn Baker; and nine great-grandchildren.
His parents and a brother, Robert L. Baker, preceded him in death.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.
Visitation will be Thursday, Sept. 20, from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Funeral services will be Friday, Sept. 21, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Hardin Cemetery in Hardin.
