Margaret Ruth (Ross) Thomas, 81, of Orrick, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 6, 2007 at Liberty Hospital.
Ruth was born on June 1, 1926 in Camden, the daughter of Earl Joseph Ross and Mary Irons Ross. She was a lifelong resident of Ray County. She belonged to the Orrick Baptist Church and Country Cruisers Auto Club. On April 30, 1944, she married Richard Wesley Thomas in Orrick.
Survivors include: three sons, Donald Eugene Thomas, James Lowell Thomas, and Glen Aron Thomas; one daughter, Paula Jo Ann Boles; one brother, Bill Ross of Camden; one sister, Gloria Whitmer of Pleasant Valley, thirteen grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren.
Her parents, husband, one son, Richard W. Thomas Jr., three brothers, Ralph Ross, Ellis Ross, and Jack Ross, two sisters, Velma Elliott, and Elnora Dugan preceded her in death.
Visitation will be held Sunday afternoon, Sept. 9, 2007 until 5 p.m. at Gowing Funeral Home.
There will be a memorial service on Monday, Sept. 10, 2007 at 1:30 p.m., at Gowing Chapel with Dr. Clay Kahler officiating. Burial will be in South Point Cemetery.
