Lois Edith Hamilton, age 88, of Norborne, passed away Monday, Sept. 3, 2007 at Life Care Center in Carrollton.
Lois was born Oct. 10, 1918 in Picher, Okla., the daughter of John W. and Edith (Sweet) Newport. She attended school in Weir, Kansas.
On Sept, 14, 1935 she married Joseph Henry Hamilton, Jr. in Carrollton. Lois was a loving wife and mother. She had worked for Banquet Foods in Carrollton. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Norborne.
Survivors include: two sons, Jerry Hamilton of Norborne, and Rusty Hamilton of Butler; one daughter, Carol Hamilton Heil of Richmond; eleven grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Her husband, Joseph Hamilton Jr., parents, five sisters, four brothers, two sons, Bobby Joe and Danny, two infant grandsons, Billy Joe and Charles Hamilton, a grandson Mark Heil and a granddaughter, Susan Heil, preceded her in death.
The family suggests contributions be made to the First Baptist Church of Norborne in memory of Mrs. Hamilton. They may be left at or mailed to Gibson Funeral Home, 201 S. Main, Carrollton MO 64633. Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2007 at the Gibson Funeral Home in Norborne. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 6, 2007 at the First Baptist Church in Norborne, with Reverend Martin Brooke officiating. Burial will be in Fairhaven Cemetery in Norborne.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Gibson Funeral Home.
