Helen Pence Mason Barr
Helen Pence Mason Barr, 93, passed away at Ponca City Nursing Center in Ponca City, Okla.
Helen was born on April 3, 1914 in Tenneys Grove, the daughter of N. M. and Martha (Fifer) Pence. She grew up in Ray County Missouri. She married Roy Mason on July 11, 1935 in Stet, where they made their home. She married Lester Barr of Blackwell, Okla. in 1982. She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene.
Survivors include: two daughters and one son-in-law, Jane Koehler and her husband, Frank of Ponca City, Okla., and Ardeth Mason of Ponca City, Okla.; one son and daughter-in-law, Glen Mason and his wife, Sharon, of Bartlesville, Okla.; one brother, Russell M. Pence of Richmond; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Both of her husbands, her parents, three sisters, Eva Brook, Sara Mansur, and Lula Mae Troup, and two brothers, Charlie Pence and George Pence, preceded her in death.
The family suggests memorials be made to The First Church of the Nazarene – Sound and Music Department in Blackwell, Okla. c/o Roberts and Son Funeral Home.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2007, at 2 p.m. at the First Church of the Nazarene in Blackwell, Okla. Interment was at Blackwell Cemetery.
Arrangements were under the direction of Roberts and Son Funeral Home.
