Clifford Eugene “Cliff” Kelley, 78, passed away on Monday, Aug. 27, 2007 at Kansas City Veterans Hospital after a lengthy illness of 19 months.
He was born on Sept. 29, 1928 to Edgar and Ruby Kelley in Polo. He graduated from Polo High School in 1946. Soon afterwards he joined the United States Navy and spent 8 years serving our country. He did a lot of traveling during these years. After he got out of the Navy he worked various jobs here in Missouri and had been a member of Local 633 Construction Union.
On July 14, 1958 he married Ramona Wheeler in Miami, Okla. To this marriage three children were born.
Survivors include: three children, Steve Kelley and girlfriend, Angie of Wood Heights, Jim Kelley of Polo, and Susan Law and husband, Dale of Lake of the Ozarks; three grandchildren; one brother and sister in-law, Bill Kelley and his wife Betty of Polo; one sister and brother in-law, Wanda Williams and her husband, Bill of Cameron; brother-in-law Mert Porter of Plattsburg; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and many friends.
His parents and one sister, Lois Porter, preceded him in death.
Memorials may be made to the Bethel Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Thursday evening, Aug. 30, 2007 from 6 to 8 p.m., at Bailey & Cox Funeral Home in Polo with the family receiving friends at that time.
Graveside services and burial will be held Friday, Aug. 31, 2007 at 11 a.m. at Bethel Cemetery in Polo with military honors.
