Wilma Alene Cox, 88, passed away Friday, Aug. 17, 2007 at the Lake Ozark Retirement Center in Osage Beach.
Wilma was born Oct. 19, 1918, in Ray County, the daughter of Dan W. Oster and Ida G. (Cramer) Oster. Prior to becoming a resident at the retirement home, Wilma lived on a farm near Richmond for 33 years. On Dec. 14, 1935, she was united in marriage to Jack Owen. To this union, a son and daughter were born. On Nov. 22, 1967, she was united in marriage to Jack Cox. She was a member of the New Hope Methodist Church near Braymer and belonged to the Georgeville Extension Club. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her family celebrates her life and cherishes the memories she created for her family and friends.
Survivors include: daughter and son in-law, Betty King and her husband, Dr. B. C. King of Camdenton; stepson and his wife, Jackie and Marlene Cox of Richmond; four grandsons and their wives: Tony and his wife, Linda Eichler of Chillicothe; Tod and his wife, Tracy Eichler of Camdenton; Brian and his wife, Debbie Owen of Blue Springs; Rodney Owen of Lee’s Summit; one great-granddaughter; six great-grandsons, and two step grandsons.
Her parents; first husband, “Jack” C. Owen; second husband, “Jack” Cox; son, Gary Owen, and her six brothers and two sisters, preceded her in death.
Services were held on Monday, Aug. 20, 2007 at 10 a.m. at Hedges-Scott Funeral. Burial was at 3 p.m. in Black Oak Cemetery in Braymer.
Arrangements were under the direction of Pitts Funeral Home.
