Beverly Jean Oberhelman, 85, of Wellington, passed away Friday, July 27, 2007 at her home.
Beverly was born January 5, 1922 in Kansas City, Mo, the daughter of Charles and Louise Meeink Jones. She married Howard “Obie” Oberhelman on August 26, 1944 in Norman, Okla. She was a Clerk for Louis Dryfus Grain Exports at the Board of Trade in Kansas City, Mo.
Beverly was a member of St. Paul’s Church in Napoleon, a member of the Wellington Dirt Daubers Garden Club, and AARP Chapter 997 of Wellington.
Survivors include: her husband, Howard “Obie” Oberhelman, of the home; two sons, Larry, and wife, Leona, Oberhelman, Wellington; and Dennis and wife, Donna, Oberhelman, Napoleon; two grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren.
Beverly was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Constance “Connie” Reynolds.
There was not a visitation. A memorial celebration service was held at 4 p.m., Sunday, July 29, 2007 at St. Paul’s Church in Napoleon. Private inurnment will be at a later date, In lieu of flowers, at Beverly’s request, memorials may be made to: Lafayette Regional Health Center, 1500 State St., Lexington, MO 64067, or Kansas City Cancer Center, (make check payable to Kansas City Cancer Charitable Fund) c/o Greater Kansas City Community Foundation, 1055 Broadway, Ste 130, Kansas City, MO 64105 (identify donation in honor of Beverly Jean Oberhelman), or Care Alternatives Hospice, 1420 NW Vivion Road, Suite 105, Kansas City, MO 64118.
