D.A. Irons, 82, resident of Grain Valley, passed away on Monday, July 16, 2007 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Blue Springs.
D.A. was a WWII Veteran, serving in the 4th Marine Corps, which he was very proud of. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Lenice Irons, and his first wife, Sarah Kirk-Irons.
Survivors include his wife, Marguerite, of the home; three daughters, Charlotte Shepard and husband, Bill, of Leeton, Terrie Schuster and husband, Jeff, of Odessa, Sharon Madrigal and husband, Bob, of Basehor, Kan.; 8 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; two brothers and numerous other relatives.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to the American Heart Association of Greater Kansas City, 6800 W. 93rd St., Overland Park, Kan. 66212.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, July 18, at the Chapel of D.W. Newcomer’s and Sons Longview Funeral Home, 12700 S. Raytown Road, Kansas City.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 17, at the Longview Funeral Home.
Arrangements are under the direction of D.W. Newcomers and Sons Longview Funeral Home.
