Harry Closterman, 92, Excelsior Springs, passed away Saturday July 14, 2007 at the Skirkey Nursing and Rehab Center in Richmond.
Mr. Closterman was born on June 9, 1915 in Waverly, the son of George and Mamie (Hudson) Closterman. He was married to Helen Kemple Reyburn in December 1968. He served in the US Army 20th Armory Division Company B during WWII. Before retirement he worked for KW Dart/Kenworth. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, American Legion and VFW Excelsior Springs, Mo.
Survivors include his wife, Kemple Closterman, of the home; daughter Carol Ann Closterman of Blue Springs; stepsons Chuck McKee of Excelsior Springs and Ken Rice of Walnut Creek, Calif.; and six grandchildren.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by: one brother, William Closterman and half sister, Ruth Wilson.
Visitation will be held on Thursday July 19, 2007 at the Polley Funeral Home Excelsior Springs from 6 to 8 p.m. Cremation. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to the Alzheimer’s Association or Missouri Department of Conservation.
