Robert D. “Bob” Lemons, 77, of rural Richmond, MO, died Sunday, July 15, 2007, at his home.
Mr. Lemons was born July 8, 1930 in Raymondville, to William Arthur and Edna Mae (Nee Price) Lemons. He was first married to Marion R. Schubert of Kansas City, MO; she preceded in death in 1980.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy, of the home; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Harold Lemons and Charles and Kelly Lemons both of Kansas City North; two daughters and son-in-law, Karen and Damon Logston of Garland, Tex. and Linda Hetle of Kansas City North; one step-daughter, Shelly Wilson of Kansas City North; one sister, Minnie Ruth Scrivner of Elkgrove Calif.; eight grandchildren, Melissa Logston, Heather Logston, Leonard Hetle II, Jacob Hetle, Bethany Lemons, Charles Lemons, Harold “Eli” Lemons and Kristin Lemons; step-grandchildren, Whitney, Mackenzie, Katelynne, Avorie and Abby Wilson; four great-grandchildren, Leonard Hetle III, Benjamin Lemons, Zachary Lemons, and Ciara Parr; numerous nieces and nephews; and a very dear friend, Aunt Esther Miller.
In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters.
Mr. Lemons was a truck driver for Mid Central/Sysco Distributing for 15 years before retiring in 1989. He was a Baptist. He had lived in North Kansas City before moving to Richmond in 1969. He was a 1949 graduate of Houston (MO) High School. He was a member of the Teamsters Union and the Raymondville Alumni Association.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Robert D. Lemons Memorial Fund.
Graveside services will be Wednesday, July 18, at 10:00 a.m. at the Crowley Cemetery, Rayville.
Thurman Funeral Home, Richmond, is in charge of the arrangements.
