Kenneth “Kenny” W. Rimmer, 58, of Richmond, died at 9:20 p.m., Friday, July 6, 2007, at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Kenneth Wayne Rimmer was born January 2, 1949 in Orrick to Cecil and Florence (Hendricks) Rimmer. He married Karen French of Richmond on October 5, 1989; she survives, of the home.
Kenny had worked in maintenance in many of the area factories, also Ray County Hospital, Richmond R-16 Schools and several other area businesses before becoming disabled in 2002. Kenny also enjoyed roughing in houses and carpentry and electrical work. He was a member of Orrick Masonic Lodge #444 and the Richmond Shrine Club. Kenny was a lifelong Ray County resident.
In addition to his wife, other survivors include his two sons, Mike D. Rimmer of Norborne, and Aaron Estes of Richmond; two daughters and two sons-in-law, Karen McGlothlin and husband Darrin of Orrick, and Heather Reed and husband Scott of Richmond; four grandchildren; one brother Paul Daniel and wife, Candy of Norborne; four sisters, Pearl Appleton of Chandler, Ariz., Annie Stalder of Excelsior Springs, Nora Fields of Richmond, and Mary Rimmer of Lathrop; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society in lieu of flowers.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, July 10, at 1:30 p.m. at the Thurman Funeral Home, Richmond. Visitation will be Monday, July 9, from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Thurman Funeral Home, Richmond. Masonic Services will be held at 8 p.m. following the visitation Monday evening at the funeral home. Burial will be at South Point Cemetery, Orrick.
