Lucille Wright passed away at North Kansas City Hospital at the age of 90.
She was born July 16, 1916 to William and Birdie Lee Cunningham.
On May 3, 1933, she was united in marriage to Jack Wright. He preceded her in death.
Lucille is known as “Grandma” to many children throughout the county as she worked as a Foster Grandparent in the Richmond School and Head Start program.
“Grandma” will be greatly missed. She was very positive and always had a word of encouragement and wisdom.
In addition to her husband, Lucille was also preceded in death by three sisters, Lorene VanHouse, Rosie Forgey and Mary Crooks; and three brothers, John Cunningham, Albert Cunningham and Clayton Cunningham.
She is survived by two brothers, William Cunningham and Bob Cunningham; one sister, Jane Tappan; one son, Juluis Wright and his wife, Snooks, of Kansas City, Mo.; one daughter Sandy, and her husband, Stan Moppin, of Rayville; 6 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great granddaughter; and a host of nieces and nephews. She loved all them very much.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 5, at Polley Funeral Home.
Services will be at 1 p.m. on Friday, July 6, at the Richmond Assembly of God, 303 South College Street, Richmond.
