Rodger F. Spooner, 45, of Stover, and formerly of Richmond, died June 16, 2007, at Lake of the Ozarks, near Stover.
Rodger was born June 4, 1962 in Kansas City, Mo., to Leslie L. and Edna M. (Longpine) Spooner. He married Sandy J. Riley of Kansas City on Aug. 13, 1999; she survives, of the home.
Rodger was a self-employed handyman. He had lived in Richmond before moving to Stover six years ago. He was a 1980 graduate of Richmond High School. He was of the Christian faith.
Other survivors include: his mother, Edna M. Spooner of the home; one daughter and son-in-law, Amanda and Josh Howard of Camden; three brothers and sister-in-law, Bill and Claudia Spooner of Hardin, Terry Parrett of Smithville, and Leslie L. Spooner, Jr. of St. Louis; three sisters and one brother-in-law, Connie Osborne of Kansas City, Anita and Kenneth Baugher of Richmond, and Sharri Corle of Richmond; one granddaughter, Cadence Howard; special friends, Cecil and Michelle Mallot of Lexington; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by two brothers, James Spooner and Thomas Parrett.
The family suggest memorial contributions be made to the Rodger F. Spooner Memorial Fund.
Visitation will be Tuesday, June 19, from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, June 20, at 1:30 p.m. at the Thurman Funeral Home, Richmond.
Inurnment will be at a later date.
