Dorsey Byrel Ryan, 78, Lawson, passed away on Thursday, May 31, 2007, at the Liberty Hospital.
Dorsey was born on July 10, 1928 in Hardin, the son of Virgil and Cora (Clark) Ryan. He was married to Dorothy DeMint on July 10, 1950 in St. Joseph. Dorsey served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Salem Christian Union Church Excelsior Springs, Missouri City Masonic Lodge and the Scottish Rite Shrine.
Survivors include: his wife, Dorothy Ryan, of the home; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Patricia Ibanez and her husband, Gerry of Anaheim Hills, Calif., Connie Hronicek and her husband, Fred of Yorba Linda, Calif., and Donna Ryan of Yorba Linda, Calif.; one sister, Virline Blaszyck of Sullivan; six grandchildren, Alan Rutledge, Rhiannon Hronicek and Marissa Hronicek, all of Vorba Linda, Calif., Aja Bell and Krystian Ibanez and Brandon Ibanez, all of Anaheim Hills, Calif.
Memorial contributions maybe given to the Dorsey Ryan Memorial Fund.
The family received friends from 4 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, June 3, 2007 at the Polley Funeral Home in Excelsior Springs.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday June 4, 2007 at the Polley Funeral Home Excelsior Springs.
Burial will be in the Clark Cemetery Hardin.
Arrangements are under the direction of Polley Funeral Home in Excelsior Springs.
