W.A. "Bill" Butler, 82, of Lexington, died on Friday, May 25, 2007, at his residence.
W.A. "Bill" Butler was born on May 10, 1925 in Wellington, to Harry and Mary Adah White Butler. Bill married Barbara Myers on Oct. 18, 1947 in Lexington.
Bill was a World War II Marine Veteran. He worked in the tank manufacturing business most of his life, working for Black Sivalls and Bryson in Kansas City as a key start- up employee for Tec Tank in Parsons, Kan., and returned to the Kansas City area with Pitman Manufacturing, retiring to Lexington, in 1992.
Survivors include: his wife, Barbara Butler, of the home; three daughters and sons-in-law, Linda Neer and her husband, John of Macon, Barbe Barr and her husband, Stan of Richmond, Tina Stidham and her husband, Keith of Pleasant Hill; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Gary Butler and his wife, Harriet of Richmond. Rick Butler and his wife, Debbie of Parsons, Kan., Bill Butler of Kansas City, Mo.; 13 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.
Bill was preceded in death by: his parents; a grandson, David; and three brothers, Harry Butler, Jr. Irvin and Jimmy R. Butler.
The visitation will be held Sunday, May 27, 2007 from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at Walker Nadler Fuller Funeral Home in Lexington followed by the funeral services at 3 p.m.
Burial will be in Machpelah Cemetery with military rites provided by Lexington VFW Post #4052.
