Charles Terry Plymell, 61, of O’Fallon, Ill. and formerly of Kirksville, passed away Friday evening, May 25, 2007 at Belleville Memorial Hospital in Belleville, Ill.
The son of Junior and Katherine Lillian (Carey) Plymell, Charles was born Oct. 4, 1945 in marshall. On Feb. 25, 1966 in Harrison, Ark., he married Willie Lou Martin. Two daughters were born to this union.
Chuck was employed in retail management most of his life. He had managed Banner Tire in Kirksville for a number of years, later managing Ben Franklin, Hobby Lobby and Michael’s stores until he retired due to failing health. he was a past member of the Thousand Hills Corvette Club in Kirksville. He was a Civil war buff and avid Nascar and genral sports fan. His interests included rebuilding old cars and reading.
He is survived by: his special companion, Krista Jones, of the home; one son, Austin Jacob Plymell, of the home; two daughters and sons-in-law, Kim Oxendale and husband, Mark of Milan and Jennifer Goodman and husband, Matthew of Springfield; four grandchildren, John, David and Matthew Oxendale of and Jacob Goodman; one sister, Sharon Mikels of Pattonsburg; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Larry Plymell.
In lieu of flowers, friends may contribute to hi son, Austin’s education fund.
Visitation will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 2, 2007 at Schoene-Ruschmeier Funeral Home in Milan.
A memorial service will follow at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 2, 2007, at Schoene-Ruschmeier Funeral Home in Milan.
A family inurnment service will be held at 5 p.m. at Winston Cemetery.
