Cordie E. Woods, 90, Excelsior Springs, passed away Friday, June 22, 2007 at the Liberty Hospital.
Cordie was born on April 1, 1917 in Kansas City, Mo., the daughter of Boyd and Lillian (Smith) Clevenger.
On Sept. 9, 1935, in Liberty, she married James O. Woods. James preceded her in death on Dec. 22, 1978. Then on April 26, 1985 she married Garrie Woods who preceded her in death on March 28, 1992.
Cordie worked for several years for Dr. Teale, retiring in 1985.
She was a member of the Rock Falls Baptist Church and then transferred her membership to the Excelsior Springs Baptist Church.
Survivors include one son, Donald Woods, and wife, Patricia, of Excelsior Springs; one daughter, Janice Wilson, and her husband, Ronald, of Stouttand; two stepsons, Rick Woods of Excelsior Springs and Luther Woods of Orrick; one stepdaughter, Paula Woods, of Calif.; one sister, Daisy Conner, and husband, Clyde, of Excelsior Springs; one sister-in-law, Frances Clevenger, of Richmond; four grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents and husbands, Cordie was preceded in death by one sister, Ruth Hull; one brother, Grover Clevenger, and one grandson, Donald.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, June 25, 2007, at the Polley Funeral Home, Excelsior Springs. Burial will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery Excelsior Springs.
The family received friends yesterday evening.
