Lyle Dean Elliott, 78, of Excelsior Springs, died at 3:50 p.m., on Tuesday, June 19, 2007, at the Excelsior Springs Medical Center in Excelsior Springs.
Mr. Elliott was born June 4, 1929 in North Kansas City, Mo. to Ernest and Amy (Prewitt) Elliott.
He retired as a Sergeant First Class in the U.S. Army. He had lived in Kansas City, Kan. most of his life before moving to Excelsior Springs seven years ago. He was a 1947 graduate of Wyandotte High School. He worked for the Board of Public Utilities in Kansas City, Kan.
Survivors include: four daughters and sons-in-law, Debra and Steve Page of Excelsior Springs, Sondra and Ron Jones of Kansas City, Kan., Phyllis and Jule Dugger of Kansas City, Kan., and Tina and John Weedin of Smithville; three brothers, Gene Elliott of Parkville, Robert Elliott of Fla., and Leland Elliott of Phoenix, Ariz.; one sister, Stella Austin of Overland Park, Kan.; 11 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers; and one sister.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Cancer Action in Kansas City, Kan.
There will be a celebration of his life at his daughter’s home at 419 Leslie Lane, Excelsior Springs, on Sunday, June 24, at 12 p.m.
Inurnment with military graveside services will be at a later date at Fort Leavenworth National Cemetery, Leavenworth, Kan.
Arrangements are under the direction of Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond.
