Florence Ruth Hendrix, 104, of Cameron, died at 1:05 a.m. on Monday, May 28, 2007 at the Cameron Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Cameron.
Mrs. Hendrix was born on May 9, 1903 in Chicago, Ill., to Ed and Allie (Taylor) Newton. She married Austin E. Hendrix of Ray County, on May 8, 1925; he preceded her in death on Dec. 14, 1968.
Mrs. Hendrix was a homemaker. She was a graduate of the Palmer Chiropractic College in Davenport, Iowa. She was of the Protestant Faith. She had lived most of her life in the Knoxville area before moving to Cameron, in 1975.
Survivors include: one daughter and son-in-law, Dorthea and Bob Grady of Cameron; four sons and two daughters-in-law, Lowell E. and Deana Hendrix of Millville, John Hendrix of Elmira, James and Rita Hendrix of Castilian Springs, Tenn., and George Hendrix of Cameron; 20 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by: one daughter, Florence May Hendrix; two sons, Daniel and Herbert Hendrix; two borthers; and three sisters.
