Clarice E. (Bales) Lewis, 87, of Richmond, died at 6:21 p.m., Wednesday, May 23, 2007, at the Shirkey Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Richmond.
Mrs. Lewis was born Jan. 19, 1920 in Camden, to Henry Ollie and Ethel (Bowers) McGaugh.
She married David F. Bales of Richmond on March 12, 1946; he preceded her in death on Aug. 5, 1988. She later married John E. Lewis of Orrick, on June 12, 1992; he preceded her in death on June 7, 2003.
Mrs. Lewis was a lifelong Ray County resident.
Survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Sandy Bales of Richmond; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; special friends, Jim and Mary Rippy of Richmond; and cousins, Alma Pollard, Agnes Knutter, Mae Bloss and Roy Bowers.
In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Kenneth and Arlie McGaugh.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Care Alternatives, 1420 N.W. Vivion Road, Kansas City, MO 64118.
Visitation will be Friday, May 25, from 7 to 8 p.m. at Thurman Funeral Home, Richmond.
Funeral services will be Saturday, May 26, at 10:30 a.m. at the Thurman Funeral Home, Richmond.
Burial will be at Crowley Cemetery in Rayville.
Thurman Funeral Home, Richmond is in charge of the arrangements.
