Eric Keith Palmer, 23, passed away on May 15, 2007, at Humboldt General Hospital in Winnemucca, Nev. as a result of a tragic automobile accident.
Eric was born on Dec. 17, 1983, to Joe and Wendy (Naucke) Palmer. Eric and his family moved to Hardin, where he attended Hardin Elementary for one year before moving to Richmond, where he attended Richmond Elementary.
He and his family moved to Winnemucca, Nev. in 1993, where he lived until his death. He attended Albert Lowry High School and graduated in 2002. He worked as an underground gold miner for Turquois Ridge Joint Venture at the time of his death.
Eric was engaged to be married to Amber Mackaman. She was the love of his life. Amber is a senior at Albert Lowry High School and is to graduate this June.
Even though Eric worked for the mining industry, his first love was fighting forest fires for the BLM or private contractors. He loved being with his family and friends and bowling. His family came first along with his future wife, Amber. He loved animals, wrestling, football, cooking and making sure everyone around him had a good time.
Eric was deeply loved by all that knew him and he will be greatly missed.
Eric is survived by: his parents, Joe and Wendy Palmer; four brothers, Jarred Naucke of Reno, Nev., Ryan, Phillip and Kyle Palmer, all of Winnemucca, Nev.; grandparents, Jerry and Ann Naucke of Worland, Wyo., Virginia Jackson of Richmond and Eugene and Betty Palmer of Whitesburg, Ky.; aunts and uncles, Phillip and Sharon Palmer of Yellowtail, Mont., Steve and Cheryl Meierer of Richmond, Dennis and Lynne Camp of Richmond, Andy Palmer of Richmond, Jeff Jackson of Cheyenne, Wyo., Rick and Jasmine Naucke of Rock Springs, Wyo., Ron and JoLinda Naucke of Bakersfield, Calif. and T.J. and Brenda Smith of Elko, Nev.; and numerous cousins.
A celebration of his life was held on Friday, May 18, 2007 at Albertson’s Funeral Home in Winnemucca, Nev.
