Leland Ray “Lee” Williams, 53, of Richmond, died at 12:36 p.m., Thursday, May 17, 2007, at his home.
Lee was born June 16, 1953 of Springfield, to Dale and Elsie (Gamel) Williams.
Lee had worked for Jay’s Construction in Wellington and had also worked for the Hardin City Water Department. He was a member of the Morton Baptist Church.
He was a U.S. Army veteran.
Survivors include: his mother, Elsie J. Foose of Lexington; his maternal grandmother, Susie I. Gamel of Odessa; two daughters and one son-in-law, Rachel and Larry Hamby of Kansas City, Mo. and Amanda Williams of Excelsior Springs; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Anna and Cliff Davis of Belton, Georgia and Jack Hurley of Odessa and Bonnie and Bob Briggle of Lexington; one step-brother, Jim Foose and his wife, Kay of Higginsville; and one grandson.
He was preceded in death by his father, Dale Williams and step-father, Nelson Foose.
The family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
Memorial services will be Sunday, May 20, at 1:30 pm. at the Thurman Funeral Home, Richmond.
Inurnment will be at a later date.
Thurman Funeral Home, Richmond is in charge of the arrangements.
