Alice Marie Monnig, 78, Excelsior Springs, passed away on Thursday May 17, 2007 at the Excelsior Springs Convalescent Center.
Mrs. Monnig was born on Sept. 18, 1928 in St. Louis, the daughter of Walter and Ellen (Gruner) Mueller. She was married to Paul Monnig on May 14, 1949 in St. Louis; he preceded her in death in Oct., 1998.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the UMW at the church, both in Excelsior Springs. Before retiring in 1999 she had worked for the Excelsior Springs License Bureau for over 20 years.
Survivors include: one daughter and son-in-law, Kathy Ligon and her husband, Randy; one son, Paul Wayne Monnig; one brother and sister-in-law, Walter Mueller and his wife, Marie of St. Louis; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents and husband she was preceded in death by one daughter, Marilyn Carver in 2001.
Memorial contributions can be given to the First United Methodist Church or the Good Samaritan Center both in Excelsior Springs.
The family will receive friends at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, May 21, 2007, at the Polley Funeral Home in Excelsior Springs.
Funeral services will follow at 2:30 p.m. on Monday, May 21, 2007, at Polley Funeral Home in Excelsior Springs.
Burial will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery Excelsior Springs.
Arrangements are under the direction of Polley Funeral Home in Excelsior Springs.
