Iva Marie Vassmer, 88, Gladstone, passed away on Wednesday May 16, 2007 at her home.
Iva was born on June 25, 1918 in Troy, Kan., the daughter of Roy A. and Ida Elsie (Triggs) Young. She was united in marriage to Walter Vassmer on May 25, 1935 in Plattsburg; he preceded her in death in March, 1981.
Iva enjoyed cooking for her family and gardening. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother.
Survivors include: one son, Ronald Vassmer of Richmond; two daughters, Belinda Reavis of Gladstone, and Ilene Hein of Kansas City, Mo.; two sisters, Bonnie Lou Hunt of Plattsburg, and Hattie Lee Rupli of Silver Springs, Md.; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded by one son, Donald Vassmer on March 10, 2004.
The family will receive friends at 10 a.m. on Monday, May 21, 2007, at the Polley Funeral Home in Excelsior Springs.
Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 21, 2007, at the Polley Funeral Home in Excelsior Springs.
Burial will be in the Enon Cemetery Excelsior Springs.
Arrangements are under the direction of Polley Funeral Home in Excelsior Springs.
