Edgar L. Clay, 57, Excelsior Springs, passed away on Friday May 11, 2007 at his home.
Edgar was born on Sept. 17, 1949 in Excelsior Springs, the son of Edgar E. and Nellie (Martin) Clay. On Nov. 25, 1975 he was united in marriage to Sandra Ball.
He served in the U.S. Navy during Vietnam. Edgar was a Master Electrician. He had worked for Gilmore Manufacturing for 24 years and then General Mill for five years. He was a member of the Elks Lodge, Eagles Lodge and Vets Club, all of Excelsior Springs.
Edgar is survived by: his wife, Sandra Clay of the home; his sister, Joyce Driver; step-son, Craig Kennedy; step-daughter, Sheila Kennedy all of Excelsior Springs; several nieces and nephews; and two grandsons.
Edgar was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Betty and Donna.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday at the Polley Funeral Home in Excelsior Springs.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday May 15, 2007 at the Polley Funeral Home in Excelsior Springs.
Burial will be in the Polley Cemetery.
Services are under the direction of Polley Funeral Home in Excelsior Springs.
