Tana Taylor Akers, 56, of Richmond, and formerly of Osage Beach, and Kansas City, Mo., died Friday, May 4, 2007 at Shirkey Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Richmond.
Tana was born Nov. 15, 1950 in Richmond to Monroe J. “Monty” and Huetta W. (Taylor) Evert. She was formerly married to Robert W. Akers, Sr. of Salem, MO.
Tana was a top producing Real Estate Agent for Four Seasons Realty in Osage Beach, who annually won awards for her real estate efforts. She had formerly co-owned and operated Akers Interiors in Richmond for 25 years. She was a 1968 graduate of Richmond High School and attended Texas Christian Women’s College in Denton, Texas. She had lived in Richmond, Osage Beach and Kansas City. She was a member of the Richmond United Methodist Church.
Survivors include: two sons, Robert W. “Rob” Akers and his wife, Lydia of Henderson, NV, and Grant M. Akers of Richmond; one brother, James M. Evert of Richmond; and two grandchildren, Taylor R. Akers and Morgan A. Farnan.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
The family suggests in lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Richmond High School Athletic Department.
Graveside services will be Monday, May 7, at 2 p.m. at the Woodland Cemetery, Richmond, with the Rev. Don Smith officiating. Pallbearers will be Bruce Thurman, Scott Farmer, Jeff Southwick, Mike Shane, Ryan Shane, Farrell Farmer, Galvin Humphries and Gary Lampton.
Thurman Funeral Home, Richmond, is in charge of the arrangements.
