Kenneth K. Owen, 91, Richmond, passed away Wednesday, April 18, 2007 at the Ray County Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Owen was born on April 16, 1916 in Lake City, the son of Ira and Lola Murl (Bailey) Owen. He was married to Mary Jean Kindell on March 21, 1942 in Independence; she preceded him in death on May 3, 1990. He had been a resident of Ray County for 57 years. He was a farmer and steel worker. He was a member of the United Steelworkers Union Local #1958. He loved farming and had worked for Gleaner Harvester Combine for 27 years. He also enjoyed square dancing.
Survivors include: his four children, son, Joseph K. Owen and his wife, Barbara Williamsburg, Va., son, David I. Owen and his wife, Glenda of Richmond, daughter, Dr. Alma J. Owen of Richmond, and son, Ernie Owen and his wife, Linda of Clarinda, Iowa; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to the Ray County Soil & Water Conservation District.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, April 20 at the Polley Funeral Home in Richmond.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 21, 2007 at the Polley Funeral Home in Richmond.
Burial will be in Richmond Memory Gardens.
Arrangements are under the direction of Polley Funeral Home in Richmond.
